2010 World Cup Preview: Group C

Group C: England, USA, Slovenia, Algeria

The Lowdown

Perennial World Cup contenders England are the top-ranked team in Group C. Fabio Capello’s side are amongst the teams talked about as potential winners in South Africa and while expectations are always high when England compete at a World Cup, there is enough quality in the squad to suggest that this team have what it takes to go far.

Level on points, goal difference, and goals, the two countries played out a one game play-off in Sudan where Algeria triumphed 1-0. Now in Group C against England, the USA, and Slovenia there is no room for error if the side want to advance to the Round of 16.
